Many heart attacks and strokes can be prevented. Talk to your nurse or doctor about your risk for heart attack and stroke. Ask about the ABCs: aspirin, blood pressure, and cholesterol. Bring all your medications to every appointment. And, be sure you understand what your nurse or doctor says.

2. Have a conversation

Use this two-page document to get people talking. It covers what you need to know, why knowing matters, and how to take action.

3. Recognition
