Key Health Alliance Selected as Regional Extension Center for Health Information Technology for Minnesota and North Dakota

On March 13, 2008, Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Mike Leavitt was at Woodwinds Hospital in Woodbury, Minnesota, to recognize Minnesota as one of the newly formed Chartered Value Exchanges (CVE). Minnesota is one of 14 communities with a special federal distinction for their strong commitment to improving quality and value in health care. The Secretary designated these partnerships of providers, employers, insurers, and consumers as the country’s first Chartered Value Exchanges (CVE) for their work to implement cutting-edge, collaborative methods to transform health care at the local level. Stratis Health has announced the first recipients of the organization’s new Building Healthier Communities award–The Institute for Nursing Quality and the Minnesota Health Literacy Partnership. The announcement coincides with the celebration of National Healthcare Quality Week (October 21-27), an annual celebration highlighting the influence of health care professionals in achieving improved outcomes in patient care and health care delivery. Significant Increase in Electronic Health Record Use in Minnesota Clinics

Stratis Health has released the final results of a comprehensive survey measuring the level of electronic health record adoption and implementation in Minnesota's adult primary care clinics. Survey results show a significant increase in the number of clinics that have implemented or are in the process of implementing an electronic health record system from 46% in 2005 to 62% in 2007.
