Publications

Stratis Health produces a number of publications and shares email news to assist health care professionals, leaders, stakeholders, organizations, and policy makers in understanding and advancing quality improvement and patient safety. Many of our publications focus on the Minnesota health care landscape. Stratis Health is well integrated with Minnesota's health care community, having continuously held the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) quality improvement organization (QIO) contract in Minnesota since the inception of the program.

Newsletters

Quality Update. The electronic publication is an update on health care quality topics and issues for Minnesota's health care leaders. We provide Minnesota thought leaders with news, issues, and perspectives on health care quality and patient safety. Published twice a year.

Clinic Link. This electronic newsletter for Minnesota physician practices offers news, tools, resources, and perspectives on health care quality affecting Minnesota physician practices and their patients. Produced quarterly.

Culture Care Connection Newsletter. For Minnesota clinics working to provide culturally competent care to their underserved racially and ethnically diverse patients. Includes articles about specific racial and ethnic populations, the health issues unique to those populations, recommendations for successfully working with, treating, and communicating with patients from multicultural populations. Produced quarterly.

Hospital Check-In. An electronic newsletter to Minnesota hospitals that provides current information, intervention tools, educational resources and trainings, and key Web links to assist in a hospital's quality improvement efforts. Produced monthly.

Nursing Home Update. An electronic newsletter to nursing homes that offers information about key topics, such as pressure ulcers, physical restraints, falls and more, with Web links to education, resources and training to assist in quality improvement and person-centered/directed care.

Reports

Annual Report of Medicare Case Reviews for Minnesota. This annual report provides data regarding case reviews that Stratis Health has completed on behalf of Medicare beneficiaries. (17-page PDF)

Electronic Health Record Landscape Assessment: Minnesota’s Primary Care Clinics. Stratis Health surveyed more than 600 adult primary care practices in Minnesota to assess the level and types of EHR use in the state. The number of clinics that have implemented or were in the process of implementing an EHR system had significantly increased—from 46% in 2005 to 62% in 2007. (2-page PDF, August 2007)

Minnesota Medicare Profile. The Profile gathers in one place information and resources about the Medicare program in Minnesota. It provides a picture of who is receiving medical services through Medicare, what the 65 and older population in Minnesota looks like, health status and quality of care information, and finally, information on traditional health care providers in Minnesota. Minnesota Nursing Home Health Information Technology Survey Results. This report provides information about the prevalence of HIT use in Minnesota nursing homes. In addition to the level of use of electronic health records (EHR), the results describe the use of software/technology including: resident assessment and care planning, census management, medication administration record, documentation of clinical notes, decision support tools, receiving external clinical documents, and e-prescribing between practitioner and pharmacy.
